Aster Data Appoints John Calonico as Chief Financial Officer

Technology Veteran Joins Leading, Large-Scale Data Management and Advanced Analytics Software Provider as Growth Accelerates


London, UK – 3rd February 2010 – Aster Data, a proven leader dedicated to providing the best data processing and data management platform for big data applications, today announced the appointment of John E. Calonico, Jr. as Chief Financial Officer to run finance, global facilities, and information systems as Aster Data‘s growth accelerates.

Calonico most recently served as the CFO of Interwoven, a leader in content management solutions. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in financial management and operational excellence in the technology sector, including expertise in accounting, treasury, human resources, facilities, and information systems. At Interwoven, he served as CFO and helped drive profitable growth as sales reached more than $250 million prior to its acquisition by Autonomy. Previously, Calonico served as the Chief Financial Officer of Blue Martini Software, Inc., where he managed and successfully completed the company’s initial public offering. He has held vice president of finance positions for BEA Systems and Autodesk, and began his career with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.
